G’day mates,
Today I will be sharing with you my S.M.AR.T.S goals. What are S.M.A.R.T.S goals you ask? S.M.A.R.T.S means
Specific: exactly what you want to achieve.
Measurable: how will you know when you have achieved this?
Achievable: is this achievable to you?
Relevant: how is this goal relevant?
Timed: what time period are you going to achieve this in?
Strategies: what can you do to achieve this?
To come up with my goals I used S.W.O.T. What is S.W.O.T you ask? S.W.O.T means
Strengths: something you’re good at.
Weaknesses: something you need to improve on.
Opportunities: the opportunity to achieve something.
Threats: something that can stop you from achieving something. The goals that I will be sharing with you are my reading goal, my maths goal and my learning behaviour goal.
Reading
I would like to get better at reading fluently out loud. I will know that I have achieved this when I can read out loud with fluency, voices and expression. This goal is achievable to me because it is not two easy and not too hard. This goal is also achievable to me because I can practice it every day. This goal is relevant to me because it will help me to read of scripts in conferences. I will achieve this goal by the end of term three. One way I can achieve this is by reading out loud every day. Another way I can achieve this by reading to someone. Wet another way I can achieve this is by reading with emphasis. One final way I can achieve this is by adding voices when I read.
Maths
My maths goal is to get better at B.O.D.M.A.S. B.O.D.M.A.S means:
Brackets: a section in a maths problem that solve first
Operation: a maths problem
Division: solve this part first
Multiplication: solve this part first
Addition: solve this part second
Subtraction: do this part second
I will know that I will have achieved this when I can use B.O.D.M.A.S to solve maths problems. This goal is achievable to me because it is not too easy or not to hard. This goal is relevant to me because it will help me solve difficult maths problems. I think that I can achieve this goal in two weeks. Some ways that I can achieve this is by running the meaning of B.O.D.M.A.S through my head, doing B.O.D.M.A.S problems daily or practicing one section of B.O.D.M.A.S daily.
Learning Behaviour
My learning behaviour goal is to zone out distractions. I will know that I have achieved this when I can zone out distraction as if the distractions aren’t there. This goal is achievable to me because it is not too easy or hard. This goal is relevant to me because it will help me to give 100% focus so that I can absorb as much information as I can. I think that I can achieve goal in 2-3 weeks. One way I can achieve this is by practicing on my little sister when she is being annoying. Another way that I can achieve this is by acting like the distractions aren’t there. Yet another way that I can achieve this is to look away when I am being distracted. One final way that I can achieve this is by trying to stop the distraction so that they don’t affect me.
